Training
One of the key factors inhibiting economic growth in South Africa is the skills gap. Living Way is working to enable the under-resourced to meet the market's employment needs. We see this happening by providing market-relevant skills training paired with our Worker Readiness School. By joining these two programmes, we can be sure that employers will approach Living Way for skills training specific to their industry.
Training for the sake of training is disempowering, rather we want to start with the end in mind. In other words, Living Way aims to provide training that will meet identified needs in the market. Rather than assuming that the market needs a particular skill, we will be partnering with businesses to find their needs before running a training course. Using the facilities on the strategically-positioned Living Way Campus will lead to the long term reduction in unemployment rates.
For 2009, Living Way is partnering with training entities to provide relevant training courses. On the Living Way campus, the following courses will be held during 2009:
- Hospitality industry
- Sewing
- High end craft and art
- Computer training
- Ceramics
- Safety officers
- Agricultural training
- Security industry
